The prehistory of the Euganean Hills

This room displays artefacts relating to thousands of years of human life and activity in the Euganean Hills, from the Middle Palaeolithic through to the entire Bronze Age, the result of research that began in the last quarter of the 19th century.

The archaeological excavations have brought to light information that varies in both quality and quantity, but human settlement appears to have been distributed across the area with different patterns in each era, without, however, the concentration around the present-day town of Este that would only become evident from the Iron Age onwards.
