Visiting aids
Since 1984, the visit route of the Atestino National Museum has been equipped with a nimble exhibition format, which is constantly being renewed thanks to the incessant archaeological discoveries and studies of the area. The visitor is welcomed in the atrium of the building where the information service and ticket office are active, available to make any reservations and learn about publications subsidiary to the visit.
Inside the museum are the following services:
- free cloakroom service
- multipurpose room for temporary exhibitions, conferences, concerts, theatrical activities, etc.
- classroom for educational activities
- library accessible upon justified request
- historical archive accessible upon justified request
- restoration laboratory and photographic laboratory
- The museum allows full access for the disabled, thanks to the elimination of architectural barriers and the presence of a dedicated elevator to the first floor of the building.
The exhibition content is accessible to everyone, thanks to the visit support materials.
In the halls you will have at your disposal:
Movable boards: present in each room and in 4 languages (Italian, English, French and German)
Captions: accompanying each find or groups of finds
Panels: accompany the showcases set up and are extensive and in-depth (in Italian only)
The museum, in cooperation with the city administration, organizes numerous thematic tour cycles, concerts, book presentations, theatrical and poetry performances.
Teachers and school groups can deepen their knowledge of the ancient world through special paths and interactive workshops that take place in the teaching room and inside the museum. It is possible to agree with high school teachers on specific in-depth paths, but also to carry out projects aimed at the schools’ own course of study. Go to the page of Educational Activities.
